Biography

Mike was born in Norwood and studied Book Illustration / Graphic Design at Croydon College of Art. He spent many years in advertising and went on to run his own design group in Chiswick. One of his clients - a US luxury yacht builder - remained a client for 40 years and eventually Mike became marketing director of this company. During his working life Mike painted mainly on holiday and weekends, usually working on location. Since his retirement he has furthered his interest in painting, producing a series of paintings of Norwood and, lately, portraits. Mike is a founder member of the Crystal Palace Community Association, designed the book Crystal Palace Norwood Heights, and the Crystal Palace Centenary Mug. Other interests are cartooning and calligraphy.

Mike has paintings in private collections in the US. Cards of his paintings and drawings are on sale in the Upper Norwood Joint Library.
