About Us
CP Artists is an artist led group that is committed to developing opportunities for the visual arts in the Crystal Palace area. The group includes a diverse range of practitioners from painters and sculptors to filmmakers and crafts-people. Our work spans the traditional and the avant-garde.
CP Artists encourages active participation in the visual arts through events such as Signals. This exhibition invites members to show their work in venues around the Crystal Palace Triangle. Last year this included the community project Turf which involved working with children in four local schools.
CP Artists brings artists together and offers them the opportunity to share their ideas, learn from one another's experiences and collaborate on projects. In addition to our regular monthly meeting there are several projects and sub-groups who meet more often.
CP Artists aims to explore new and exciting ways to present art that engages local communities as well as more established arts audiences.
CP Artists intends to support visual artists through training, professional development and employment opportunities.

Last year's training programme included courses and workshops including - digital art skills, portfolio presentation, marketing and fundraising, self-employment and taxation issues. This year we hope to continue this programme with further courses and skills sharing workshops.
One part of this training programme has been our mentoring scheme. Over the past eighteen months selected artists have met with established players in London's contemporary art scene. Each artist has been matched with a specialist who offered critical feedback as well as practical advice. The first round of artists were chosen to represent a broad cross-section of CP Artists that included sculptors, video artists, public artists and painters. The conversations they had with their mentors reveal concerns that resonate with many artists. Edited versions of these dialogues will be published here later this year.
Our Artists' Rotation scheme gives individual artists the opportunity to get peer group support and feedback on their practice. We can assist with arranging this whether you have a studio or not.
In the coming year we will be presenting a series of talks by artists and curators as well as inviting other artists' groups, studio providers and arts professionals to come and visit us.
We're also developing our education programme with local schools and community groups.

Membership
Membership is open to artists working in any media and at any stage of their career.
Members get together once a month in Crystal Palace.
Membership automatically entitles you to show in Signals our annual exhibition.
